It Came From the Darkness’ - August  2020

I remember waking early one Saturday wanting something to keep me busy for a few hours. Luckily scrolling through Facebook, I noticed a post from a friend of mine, fellow actor and writer Laurence Saunders, saying he’d written a few short stories for a Charity Horror Anthology, ‘It Came From the Darkness.’ I immediately thought, ‘I want a bit of that’, so I did a little research and saw that I had a few days left to enter my piece into the competition to be considered in the Anthology.

The task was to write a hundred word story (no more or less) starting with the phrase … ‘It came from the darkness’. I settled down on my bed whilst everyone was having breakfast and after half an hour, I came down with three stories! I really enjoy writing, especially if I have a steer or a theme, so it was great fun to write a pithy horror piece with a beginning, middle and end in only one hundred words.

I sent out in my three stories and I was lucky enough to have two of them chosen, so … I am now a published author! ‘It Came From the Darkness’ can be found on Amazon here and includes stories from a number of well-respected horror genre writers. All proceeds go to the Max the Brave fund maxthebravefund.org, a great charity helping children fighting cancer and life-limiting conditions.
